“Each program is designed with care to promote healing, resilience, and lasting recovery.”
What Is Opioid Addiction?
Opioids include prescription painkillers such as oxycodone and hydrocodone, as well as illicit drugs like heroin and fentanyl. These substances affect the brain’s reward system and often lead to tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal.
Long-term use increases the risk of sleep disruption, mood changes, and overdose. With treatment, you can stabilize safely and rebuild healthy routines that support lasting recovery.
Are Opioids Addictive?
Opioids change how the brain processes pain and reward. Over time, tolerance and cravings grow, and withdrawal makes stopping difficult. Structured treatment with medical oversight and therapy helps break the cycle and lower relapse risk.

How Opioid Addiction Treatment Works
Recovery looks different for each person. At New Growth Recovery, we combine clinical services, skills training, and whole-person support. You’ll receive clear goals, frequent check-ins, and a plan that adapts as you progress.
Levels of Care for Opioid Treatment
Extended Day Treatment (PHP)
You’ll attend 5 to 6 hours of care each day, several days per week. Our Extended Day program includes therapy, family support, and wellness activities like yoga or fitness.
Half-Day Treatment (IOP)
You’ll join three-hour sessions, 3 to 5 days weekly, with flexible scheduling. The Half-Day program includes therapy, skills practice, and family involvement.
Virtual Treatment Program
You can attend groups and individual sessions online. Virtual care follows the same clinical standards and supports privacy, access, and consistency.
Detox Program
If you need withdrawal support before starting, we coordinate fast medical detox placement with trusted partners. This prevents gaps in care and lowers relapse risk.
Therapy and Counseling
You’ll receive addiction therapy with CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. Experiential supports include yoga, nature walks, and animal-assisted sessions.
Disclaimer: Due to Massachusetts licensing, New Growth Recovery uses “Extended Day Treatment” and “Day Treatment.” These are comparable to a Partial Hospitalization Program and an Intensive Outpatient Program, respectively.

FAQs About Opioid Addiction Treatment
How long does opioid withdrawal last?
Withdrawal can begin within hours of the last dose and usually lasts several days. Sleep, mood, and energy may take longer to normalize.
Can I taper off opioids on my own?
Tapering without medical help is risky. Relapse and overdose rates are high. A supervised plan with addiction therapy greatly increases safety and success.
Do I need medical detox before starting outpatient opioid treatment?
Not everyone needs detox first. Our team evaluates your withdrawal risk and, if needed, coordinates detox before starting day treatment or IOP.
Do you offer virtual opioid treatment programs?
Yes. Virtual opioid rehab at New Growth includes group sessions, therapy, and counseling online, following the same standards as in-person care.
Is treatment confidential?
Absolutely. All services are private and follow strict HIPAA guidelines to protect your information.
What therapies are included?
Opioid rehab includes CBT, DBT skills training, individual therapy, group counseling, family sessions, and holistic supports like yoga or animal-assisted therapy.
Do you treat dual diagnosis?
Yes. We provide dual diagnosis care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, or trauma alongside opioid addiction.
Is detox the same as rehab?
No. Detox manages withdrawal and stabilizes the body. Rehab addresses the root causes, provides therapy, and builds relapse-prevention skills.
Will rehab affect my work or school?
Programs are flexible, with day, half-day, and virtual options. Documentation can be provided if needed.
How soon can I start?
Same-day and next-day assessments are available at New Growth Recovery in Springfield, MA.
